Information about Cairns
Cairns is best known as the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, but the city offers much more to its many visitors. With plenty of cosmopolitan offerings, Cairns is a wonderful place to spend a vacation exploring the great outdoors. After all, the Great Barrier Reef isn't the only site to see. Also within striking distance are World Heritage listed sites like the Daintree Rainforest and the Outback.
Inside the city itself, there are a number of exciting ways to pass the time. The main attraction is a gorgeous promenade set right on the ocean, and complete with a swimming lagoon hundreds of feet long.
