Fingal Bay is a patrolled surf beach and offers something for everyone including: BBQ and picnic facilities along the foreshore, childrens playground, Kiddies Corner which has a natural spring for the kids to play, surf breaks to the northern end and Barrys Park to the southern end which is a great vantage point to see whales. There is a local store for basic groceries as well as a takeaway, post office, bottle shop and a petrol station. The Shoal Bay foreshore is approximately 3 minutes by car with the main CBD in Nelson Bay approximately 5 minutes by car.
