Built in 1890, this pair of colonial character cottages is centrally located in the city centre. Self contained with all the modern facilities we expect, these cottages emanate a sense of history and are jam packed with memorabilia as the name suggests.

Very steep stairs lead to attic bedrooms, with double and twin bedrooms in both cottages. Granny's attic has a nursery as well, and Grandpa's Den is decorated with all of grandpa's treasures! Both cottages have an open fire and an electric heater, plus all electric blankets, linen, microwave, as well as a conventional oven, fry pan, washing machine and masses of character and charm. The cottages are heritage listed.

Centrally located with an abundance of really good restaurants close by, in either Elizabeth Street, North Hobart, and at the water's edge and Salamanca Place. To name any in particular would be difficult. There are so many nice eating places now. The best view of Hobart is from Mt. Nelson, far better and easier than Mt. Wellington. Drive as if to the Casino and at the lights turn right and follow the signs to Mt Nelson Signal Station and, as a bonus, there is a delightful restaurant.

A visit to the Cadbury's Chocolate Factory is a must. It is essential to book with tickets available from the visitor's information centres or Cadbury's. Combine a visit with a cruise or a tour of Moorilla Winery. The Botanical Gardens are the best in the nation. Of course, Salamanca Market on Saturday morning is a legend!
