I found our one BR unit to be good value low cost accomodation. The setting was quiet and the unit had everything we needed. The bathroom was of generous size and the shower worked well. The kitchen equipment and seating were also adequate. We both slept well. My son used the double bed (I think it was queen size) and I slept on the floor in the lounge using my sleeping mat and sleeping bag. Penola was a good town to drive back to Melbourne from and it would also be good base for visiting to visit places of interest nearby. Before arriving at the unit, we spent a couple of hours at Bool Lagoon. If you're a bird watcher like me, allow a day for that alone- it's big & has several walks.
