Charnigup Farm Bed and Breakfast is ideally located as a base to explore and enjoy a wide range of coastal and mountain attractions, wineries, good restaurants, national parks, wildflowers, bird watching and whale watching. With our beautiful rural setting, delightful garden and eco-friendly house we offer an ideal base for nature lovers, bird and flora enthusiasts, photographers and artists; as well as a place where you can experience life on a small Australian farm.
Your hosts, Nigel and Charmaine Hickman, welcome you to their quality country home. Our aim is to provide an escape for adults from the hustle and bustle of modern life. (Sorry, we are not ideal for children under 12 years). Char-nig-up is a name derived from 'Charmaine','Nigel' and 'up' - an aboriginal word meaning resting place with water.
Charmaine and Nigel invite you to share in their enjoyment of the results of a 'labour of love', having built the mudbrick homestead including your bed and breakfast accommodation themselves (even the bricks!) from environmentally friendly materials.
Experience the ambience and attractiveness of this comfortable home enhanced with tasteful period furniture, original artworks, airy rooms and lovely rural views across farm land to the Porongurup and Stirling Ranges.
Our bird filled cottage garden delights visitors, and you may just sit and admire the sweeping views or make use of our gas barbecue. Birds such as blue wrens and scarlet robins are encouraged to make their homes in carefully planned habitats of native flora in the garden and visitors are constantly enchanted by close up views of our colourful native birds.
Come and share the peace and tranquillity of Charnigup Farm with Annie the Kelpie sheepdog and resident bushland kangaroos. Rambling gardens, beautiful views, attentive hosts and comfortable accommodation will ensure you leave us refreshed and invigorated in body and in soul!
