Lois & Neil Triggs have recently completed the construction of a fourth Bed & Breakfast cottage, Sugar Gum Cottage, to complement the existing Peppermint Gum, Blue Gum and Gumnut Cottages.
Gumnut and Sugar Gum Cottages are designed exclusively for couples. A large and roomy bathroom with large showers and a comfortable two person bath, scented bath and shower gel, quality soaps and fluffy towelling robes for your enjoyment.
All the cottages offer a luxurious queen bed, views to the natural bushland, the living areas have cosy wood fires, comfy sofas and fully equipped kitchenette.
Peppermint Gum and Blue Gum Cottages have two bedrooms and are suitable for family stays.
Cottages have quality linen, donnas and towels supplied. TV, DVD and CD. The open decks have outdoor settings with shade umbrellas and gas B.B.Q.’s
The cottages are surrounded by native and exotic gardens that attract many native birds.
The tastefully decorated miners cottages with timber dado and the glowing warmth of a wood fire create the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. To make your stay memorable, Lois and Neil have paid attention to special details such as Queen size beds, comfy sofas and lots of home grown and local seasonal produce. A generous country breakfast hamper is provided. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, television, video and CD player. All linen is provided, including doonas and the cottages are wheelchair friendly.
Situated just off the Great Alpine Road, Stringybark Cottages are a leisurely 3 hour drive from Melbourne and 19 kms from Bairnsdale. An ideal base from which to explore.
Within 45 mins drive are local wineries, galleries of local artists, the famous Buchan Caves, Lakes Entrance and the Gippsland Lakes, Orbost and the Snowy River region, the Mitchell River and the Den of Nargun.
Take a day trip to Omeo, Dinner Plain, Mount Hotham and the High Country. Visit any of the National Parks for which East Gippsland is famous, the bush walking is great and the East Gippsland Rail Trail is 5 minutes down the road, so bring your bikes.
Or you could spend your time at Stringybark Cottages, wander around the property and enjoy the bush, bird watching or just sit, read and relax - whatever you choose to do it is MAGIC.
