Whether you are a snowboarder, cross country skier, bushwalker, birdwatcher, downhill bike rider or just want a cosy weekend retreat for two or a fun family holiday we are the place to be.
In well appointed, self contained alpine cottages secluded amongst tall mountain ash gums and huge tree ferns you will enjoy an ambience of bygone days, before electricity.

Moosehead Lodge, Reindeer Lodge and Jenny's Lodge all run on solar, gas and candle power. All cottages have a fireplace to gather around and discuss the days events.

The cottages cater for families, groups and couples.
Jenny's Lodge can sleep 12 people and is ideal for groups.
Moosehead and Reindeer each sleep 8, two downstairs bedrooms, and a bedroom in an attic.

These self contained cottages are located in the old gold prospector’s Alpine village of Tanjil Bren, only 2.5 hours drive east of Melbourne in the Baw Baw ranges. It is an undiscovered sanctuary of fresh air, clean spring water, and tranquillity in the heart of the forest.

With its distinct country feel and natural design, staying here certainly is a unique and refreshing experience.

Living, dining, and kitchen are in one huge open plan room, which has a big fireplace. Firewood is supplied and burning upon your arrival in cold weather. A wood box is located adjacent to the combustion heater, so there is no chopping wood or going out in the cold to bring in fuel. .

Solar power provides electricity and gas is used for cooking , the fridge and very hot showers. The water is from a natural spring that originates from a steep highland close by. You will be surprised at how good it tastes.

The abundance of birdlife is a birdwatchers paradise, from tiny blue wrens to magnificent lyrebirds that live in the forest just minutes away. Wombats, wallabies, possums, echidnas, and for the very serious animal lover, deer can be spotted close to the village. Koala bears have been seen as close as icy creek, just a short drive from the lodge.

There is a smorgasbord of walks and things to do, or just relax with your family or friends in front of the fire. This is a great place to “get away” and relax, feed the Rosellas, Parrots and Kookaburras during the day and possums at night.
