With long verandahs, cosy log fires, panoramic valley views from every cottage, no traffic and plenty of space to breathe, Pennyroyal Otways Retreat is the ideal countryside escape. Our three timber cottages are family friendly, fully self contained and feature all the comforts of home plus more to ensure your stay will be both relaxing and memorable.
Ideal for groups, families and couples alike, our property offers something for everyone, as we are able to provide private cottages for just one couple or the entire property for large groups – sleeping up to 30 people. Pennyroyal Otways Retreat is the perfect place for reunions, country weddings, large functions and special occasions with an enclosed barn that's just ideal for parties and other special occasions. Many memorable weddings have taken place under the stars beside the waterlily lake.

Take pleasure in leisurely walks around the farm land, enjoying the natural beauty of the Otways or maybe you just want to sit back and relax with a glass of wine on the verandah, spotting the kangaroos as the sun sets over the valley. The sweeping expanse of flat grassy land around the lake provides the perfect place for a game of cricket, a lazy afternoon lunch, yabby fishing or simply dozing in an outdoor chair under a shady willow.

cottage/ farmstay The Farmhouse is the largest of all our timber cottages and sleeps up to 16 people. This idyllic cottage looks down the valley, across the lake and along neighbouring hills. The living area is varied with 5 large cosy leather sofas, a wonderfully long timber table everyone can gather at for meals, a fully equipped kitchen and the latest entertainment system 2 tvs and 500 in house movies. All the bedrooms have superior linens and towels provided. A wide verandah stretches out along the cottage - with barbequing facilities & outdoor seating - a favoured meeting place also for local parrots and native birds. Take an early morning walk down the hillside path to the river flats where the sheep and alpacas graze and watch the sunrise in the valley.
