Red Mill House in Daintree Village combines the splendour of an old tropical Queenslander home built by a pioneering family and Tremaine, a tastefully designed modern addition. Red Mill House is owned and operated by two enthusiastic birdwatchers who are passionate about the area, Andrew and Trish Forsyth.
Each ensuite room has a spacious verandah overlooking the large tropical and rainforest garden and these areas and the lounge of Daintree’s Red Mill House are wonderful places for socialising in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, or reading from the many books and literature that are available in our library.
Breakfast on the verandah is a birdwatching experience in itself. The many bird species spotted include a variety of Honeyeaters, Yellow- bellied Sunbird, Mistletoe Bird and a pair of Orange-footed Scrubfowl who have made Red Mill House their home and can be seen busily tending to their nesting mound each day. You may also be joined by one of our range of resident Tree Frogs.
