The magnificent gardens are an outstanding feature of our Villa and create a peaceful and secluded atmosphere. Lovingly and painstakingly transformed by Jenni with great input from daughter Rebecca, over the years, they are designed to capture the ever changing seasons on Phillip Island and to create a private oasis. Once surrounded by the gardens you are truly in your own private world. Winding paths could lead you to a secret corner, a lily pond or a special sculpture.
It is a wonderful way to while away the day and forget the outside world.
After almost a decade Boyle's Award Winning Restaurant has closed it's doors to the general public however, for guests who would wish to order breakfasts we offer room service to your suite. For those wishing to have a light supper on arrival, let us know and we can arrange this too. Of course we still have our Hotel licence and the bar is still open for you.
Castle Villa by the Sea (known as "The Castle" by the locals) is one of the iconic buildings of Phillip Island and was once the family home of Dawson and Alice Davies, the original owners of the famous Erehwon Guest House which catered for the rich and famous of a bygone era. "The Castle" was purchased by Harley and Jenni in 1994 and transformed by Harleys incredible design skills into the first boutique art hotel. The walls are hung with original art by Jenni Matson Boyle and latterly by daughter Freya Ete who is also an artist now residing in London. Enjoy your stay, it is a magical place done with love and care for you to relax and unwind.
