Thunderbird Park sits on the largest deposit of thundereggs in the world. The mineral rich seam that runs through Mount Tamborine was discovered at Thunderbird Park in 1967. Today, the ground at 300m by 50m open-cut mine has an endless supply of thundereggs.

The original manager's apartment is located amongst the Hillside Lodges and contains 2 Queen size bedrooms plus a third bedroom with a trundle bed (to sleep 2). It offers a very large self contained kitchen with upright stove (no microwave), separate lounge and dining rooms. The bathroom has a bath and a separate shower. Mill Lodge
Mill Lodge is a budget 4 bedroom house situated on the banks of Cedar Creek, with a fireplace, TV, and DVD player. The kitchen has hot plates, wall oven and microwave. The bathroom has a separate shower and a bath, separate toilet and a fully equiped laundry. The 4 bedrooms contain a Queen size bed in 2 bedrooms, 1 dbl bed with a sgl size bunk above, and two sgl bunk beds in the 4th bdrm. Premium Bush Lodge
The Premium Bush Lodges (pictured) are a refurbished family style cabin with washing machine. All include bathroom/ toilet facilities, two bedrooms , kitchen with hotplates, microwave, lounge / dining area with TV & DVD, cutlery crockery and limited cooking utensils.
