Three delightfully charming character cottages on the banks of the Blackwood River only twelve kilometres from the historical town of Nannup in the South West of Western Australia.
Each cottage has been carefully positioned and, together with some judicious planting of trees and shrubs, a secluded and very private environment has been individually created for the guests in each of the cottages. All of the cottages have a very private setting, wide verandahs, a private double spa, air con for summer, wood fire for winter, all linen is provided and each cottage has a special feature, unique only to itself.
Blackwood River Cottages is about old moss covered fence posts, winter mist rising from the river, clear night skies with twinkling stars overhead, peace, the sounds of silence and old fashioned country warmth.
Nestled on an old pioneer farm, many signs of the old days are still evident today including an old barn and dairy.
The 40 acre property is bordered by state forest and the Blackwood River providing guests with a choice of forest or property walk trails, wildflower walks in the adjoining forest or for a small fee guests can hire a canoe on-site for a half day paddle on the river taking in the scenic forest views. Abundant birdlife, kangaroos feeding at dusk, occassional possum visits at night, water fowl, ducks, frogs, small marsupials and lizards, long necked tortoise - all of these can be spotted by the sharp eyed guest.
Central to the South West, Blackwood River Cottages Nannup are within an easy drive of the surrounding towns of Balingup, Busselton, Manjimup, Pemberton, Bunbury, Margaret River and Augusta.
